Highly configurable, the x:panda shape delivers personalized support tailored to individual needs. With an adjustable seat width and depth, as well as backrest width and height, it ensures a custom fit and exceptional comfort. This adaptability provides a stable and supportive base, encouraging active participation and independence in everyday life. Whether accommodating complex seating requirements with advanced supports and dynamic backrest adjustments, or serving as a simple activity seat, the x:panda shape meets a wide range of needs.
The x:panda shape is available in three variants : Infant, Simple and Advanced.
The seat is designed to provide a stable surface for the pelvis and thighs, promote even pressure distribution and support joint positioning, including accommodating any leg length discrepancies. Seat selection is tailored to the individual’s specific needs - whether to facilitate movement and effective weight shifting, or to restrict movement to support muscle control and functional performance. The appropriate option is chosen from three variants based on the user's unique requirements.
Infant
The infant seating system supports typical motor development by enabling infants to engage in daily activities from a seated position. The seat provides an opportunity for early intervention – or more precisely, on-time intervention, taking the timing of the World Health Organization (WHO) motor milestone of sitting into consideration. Here a typically developed child is approximately between 4 -9 months when they achieve the motor milestone of independent sitting.
The x:panda shape infant seat facilitates the long sitting posture - a common floor-sitting position in infancy where the child is sitting with legs resting, straight or slightly bend, on the floor. This is one of the key motor milestones outlined by WHO as part of typical developmental progress. By adding the Floor frame accessory, it is possible for even the smallest children to sit close to the floor, joining in circle time at the nursery or kindergarten, playing fun games with siblings and interacting with their peers at eye level.
The infant seat creates a soft and stable base for the child, allowing them to explore their surroundings, interact with parents, carers, and siblings at eye level, and participate in family meals and other daily activities.
The seat provides a snug support for the smallest children. The surrounding support provides soft postural support for the trunk while leaving space for free arm movement. A soft movable wedge creates a seat pit to enhance pelvic stability and to ensure that the child does not slide forward in the seat.
When adding the arm supports, a small tray can be mounted, designed specifically to embrace the smallest children. The tray enables suction toys to stick to the surface, encouraging play and engagement.
Simple
The x:panda shape simple is a great choice for children who requires a minimum of postural support in order to function optimally in daily activities, but might fatigue easily when participating in daily life. It can provide users with basic postural support in the seated position and is the optimal solution for children who does not have complex postural needs.
The seat can be customized to provide the optimal level of support for the child. Outer knee supports, supporting the thigh, combined with a pommel, provides stability and optimal alignment for the upper legs. The pommel features a quick-release mechanism, and when used with the contoured swing-away side supports, it ensures a secure and efficient foundation for safe transfers in and out of the chair. The pommel can be easily removed, and the side supports swing away, allowing for easy access.
Advanced
The x:panda shape advanced is the optimal solution for the child with complex postural needs. It can accommodate complex and asymmetrical positions of the lower limbs, such as unequal leg length, hip abduction and wind-sweeping.
The advanced variant features multi adjustable seat plates that can be adjusted independently to accommodate changes in seat depth and seat width to ensure the best fit, as the user develops and grows. The advanced seat plate design also secures the attachment of continuously adjustable seat wedges and inner and outer knee supports, which, together with the adjustable hip supports, play an important role in encouraging postural alignment, pelvic positioning and stability and comfort.
A variety of contoured, multi adjustable and swing-away side supports provide a snug and secure fit, following the natural curves of the torso. When paired with the adjustable hip supports, they create a stable three-point support system that enhances comfort and promotes an optimal posture, even for children with a slightly curved spine.
