Our owner

Etac’s owner, Nordstjernan, is a Swedish investment house with roots dating back to 1890. Originally founded as a shipping company, Nordstjernan has evolved into an owner of companies across multiple sectors, developing businesses that create value over generations. This heritage is anchored in a commitment to long-term growth and the belief that entrepreneurship is a positive force in society.

A foundation-owned investment company

Nordstjernan is family-controlled and owned by two foundations – the Axel and Margaret Ax:son Johnson Foundations. This unique structure provides continuity and independence, enabling Nordstjernan to act with a focus on creating lasting value rather than short-term market perspectives. Through its foundations, Nordstjernan also supports research, culture, and education, contributing to societal development beyond business.

Nordstjernan invested in Etac in 2006, and became the sole owner in 2011.
