Cookie policy

To make this site work properly and for those other purposes we describe below, we place small data files called cookies on your device.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size, and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you do not have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

How do we use cookies?

Our website, like many others, stores and retrieves information on your browser using cookies. This information is used to make the site work as you expect it to. This information can also be used to give you a more personalized web experience.

We use Google Analytics to count the number of visitors on our web site and tell us e.g., which pages are most popular, how long visitors spend on a page, what portions of our pages are viewed, what links visitors click, and the average number of pages viewed. This works through cookies, but they don’t tell us who you are or send us any personal information about you.

The software we use to add content to this site or to remember your selections on the site uses cookies. For example, the site uses a cookie to note you have hidden the message about cookies that appears at the bottom of the page when you first visit our site.

We use content from other sites such as YouTube and they may set cookies on your computer. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent, however, some website features or services may not function properly without cookies.

We may also use cookies to improve our website and to better understand your visits on our platforms. We may also serve you with interest-based or targeted advertising both on our website, and on third party websites (see below for more on interest-based advertising), or to observe your behaviors and browsing activities over time across email, multiple websites or other platforms.

How to control cookies

You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish – for details, select the Settings or Options menu in your browser. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.

Cookies: You can adjust your browser to control cookies to require your affirmative acceptance for new cookies, automatically reject cookies and/or delete or disable existing cookies. How you do this depends on the type of cookie and the browser that you are using. For more information on how to control browser cookies, click here. If information about your browser is not available through this page, please search your browser for instructions about how to opt-out of cookie collection.

Flash Cookies: You may need to take an additional action to manage flash cookies, which you can learn more about here. Why? Because flash cookies cannot be controlled through your browser settings.

Google Analytics: We may use Google Analytics on our website to help us understand how you use our website. You can learn about how to opt-out of Google Analytics here.

Facebook: We may use Facebook cookies to target ads to you. You can learn about how to opt-out of receiving targeted advertisements from Facebook here.

Email Tools: You can also change your email settings to block the automatic download of images in email messages, as such images may contain technologies that help us understand how you interact with the message, such as whether you open it or click links within it.

Note that deleting or blocking cookies may impact your experience on our website, as some features may not be available. Certain options you select are browser and device specific.

Our Do Not Track Policy: Some browsers have “do not track” features that allow you to tell a website not to track you. These features are not all uniform. We do not currently respond to those signals. If you block cookies, certain features on our sites may not work. If you block or reject cookies, not all of the tracking described here will stop.

Third party cookies

Sleeknote is used in context with pop-up advertisement-content on the website. The cookie determines which ads the visitor should be shown, as well as ensuring that the same ads does not get shown more than intended.

Interest based advertising

You can submit an opt-out request to the Digital Advertising Alliance’s (DAA) Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising program (click here) and/or the National Advertising Initiative (NAI) (click here). These are tools that provide individuals with the ability to opt-out of having their online behavior recorded and used for advertising purposes by participating companies. Note that these tools may not opt you out of non-cookie online advertising. Please see the instructions above for more information about adjusting cookie settings.

Certain choices you make are both browser and device specific. If you reset your cookie cache, you may need to resubmit your choices.
