Seating Assessment Training (SAT)
This free practical course aims to develop your knowledge of postural assessment and solutions for seating through a look, feel and move approach. It includes :
• presentation of evidence-based seating assessment
• hands-on activities with different seating options to develop skills
• experiences from the implementation of the Cerebral Palsy FollowUp Program (CPUP) in Denmark,
• examples of seating solutions using case stories.
SAT gives the opportunity to develop your competencies and skills in collaboration between healthcare professionals, prescribers and equipment providers to meet the needs of individual users.
Stand, Rock & Roll
This workshop explores the development pathway from standing to walking. We particularly look at the importance of a dynamic posture concerning hip stability and integrity, muscle activation, dynamic control, movement and independence. We aim to:
- Look at the benefits of a dynamic posture and the role it can have in movement development.
- Discuss how dynamic standing can bridge the gap between standing and walking
- See how dynamic movement can be applied to clinical practice
Clinical Hands-On Approach to Learning
Join us for our Clinical Hands-On Approach to Assessment training session. This interactive educational event focuses on clinical seating assessment, pelvic anatomy and physiology, pelvic orientations, and identifying potential causes of postural asymmetries. Participants will engage in hands-on training to measure angles, evaluate structural versus compensatory scoliosis, and apply findings using our Clinical Assessment Form to determine how to correct or accommodate seating needs.
This free three hour practical clinical assessment training is led by our Biomedical Engineer and Clinical Education team and will also include:
• Discussion of real-life clinical cases
• Open forum seating posture discussions
• Opportunities for participants to collaborate on assessment approaches with the education team as well as colleagues.
Standing Assessment training
This free practical session aims to develop your knowledge of the development of postural control needed to stand and walk and ways in which equipment is able to support rehabilitation, activity and function.
It includes:
- Exploring the intricacies of the development of postural control to stand and walk, and the impact on activity and participation where this is interrupted
- The role of a targeted training approach in developing postural control in standing with video case studies
- How to decision make between static and dynamic using an evidenced based practice approach
- Progressing from standing to walking and building a rehab programme to support this
