Adjust Etac Prio for Asymmetry
Asymmetry in the back/spine, pelvis and/or thighs have a big impact on the positioning and may also affect respiration and sitting tolerance.
Back Support: The 3D model (1) contours well to the users back and the tension adjustable back straps stabilize and support the trunk. If the pelvis and/or spine is rotated, it can be difficult to get consistent back contact. Test to place Cell Foam Wedges (2) under the back cover to improve the contact area. Thereafter adjust the Dynamic Pelvic Support (3). Trunk Supports (4) can be necessary. They should be positioned higher on the side the person is leaning to and counteract further down on the opposite side. Multi-Adjustable Head Support (5): It can be finetuned in all directions to meet the user´s head. Abductor (6): With strong thigh adduction an Abductor positioned between the user´s knees is a possible solution. Additional wedges (7) placed under the cushion cover can further guide the thighs. Be careful not to force the legs into a position. Prioritize comfort and sitting tolerance. Please note that an Abductor is not meant to be placed between the thighs to prevent forward sliding.
Tilt and Recline Positions: Both the active and resting position need to be carefully assessed. With a complex spine asymmetry, it is common to prefer a side position when resting. This to avoid discomfort due to pressure points towards the back. Therefore, the resting position should probably not be adjusted with maximum tilt and recline. Use Gas Piston Clips (8) to define the resting position. If the user has a dislocated hip joint, make sure that reclining the back seat will not have negative consequences. If necessary, the seat to back angle can be set in a fixed position by using the Lever Locking Device (9). Anti-tippers: Always check the adjustment.
1. 3D Back Support System
Three vertically placed soft cushions with plush cover, connected with sliding fabric and extra long tension adjustable back straps. It conforms perfectly to a curved back. Height adjustable between 45-60 cm (18"- 23½").
2. Wedges, Cell Foam
The back support can be further contoured with cell foam wedges. They attach under the back cover with self adhesive Velcro, included with the wedges.
3. Dynamic Pelvic Support
Automatically relieves the tension in the reclined position and re-tightens in the active position. Adjust the height to the level of PSIS.
4. Trunk Support
Choose between "swing away" and "detachable" model. Both are adjustable in height, depth
and width. The pad is softly curved with a soft end.
5. Head Support
With sufficient adjustability in height, angle and depth to meet the user´s head position. The head support can also be adjusted sideways.
6. Leg Abduction
Attached at the front of the seat, between the
user´s knees. It guides the legs to a symmetrical position.
7. Wedges, Cell Foam
With the wedges, support for the thighs can be created on a non contoured seat cushion. The cell foam wedges can be attached under the cover with the included self adhesive Velcro to a seat cushion.
8. Gas Piston Clips
Each clip reduces the angling with approximately 2°. Can be used for both tilt and recline gas pistons. Easy to attach, easy to remove.
9. Lever Locking Device
Both the tilt and recline positions can be fixed by putting a locking device over the lever.
