Metalshop Quality Inspector

Tasks & Responsibilities:

- Conduct regular quality assessment on incoming materials from vendors using appropriate methods measuring dimensions, testing functionality, visual valuation

- Conduct regular quality assessment on semi-products and finished goods made within metal shop department

- Approve or reject materials with respect to quality standards, inspection procedure and product specification

- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs inputting data into appropriate systems

- Maintain records of measurements, information and various metrics such as number of rejections per day

- Initiate nonconformance reports in case material does not meet the specification

- Prepare and submit various reports to the quality manager

- Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well maintained and discard any that doesn’t meet requirements

- Operate in line with company policies and procedures with a focus on quality management system, company ethic & culture and harmonization with Group Compliance programs

- Work with the Company’s health, safety and environment rules & policies


What we expect:

- 2+ years of experience as quality inspector or relevant role within metal fabrication field (experience related to welding or acceptance of welds will be an asset)

- English skills on B1 level

- Technical graduation – secondary education (education in welding or materials science will be an asset)

- Experience in reading and interpreting product specifications (in particular weld markings)

- Experience in selecting and use of measurement tools

- Experience in creating inspection and non-conformance reports

- VT1 & VT2 certificate (PT1 & PT2 or another NDT certificate will be an asset)

- Understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing industry

- Knowledge of quality inspection standards and methodologies

- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach

- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to work under time pressure

- Ability to communicate on different levels of the organization

- International company work environment experience will be an asset

- Certification of quality control will be a strong asset

- ERP system practical knowledge
